Largo has everything from salt-adjacent yards to deep inland lots, so the right plants depend on your specific site. Common high performers include live oak, gumbo limbo, cabbage palm, muhly grass, firebush, saw palmetto, and coontie. We match plants to your exact microclimate.
Yes, and we actively design for canopy yards. Many Largo homes have mature live oaks and pines that create deep shade. Natives like wild coffee, beautyberry, coontie, and cinnamon fern thrive under that canopy where turf cannot.
Yes. We source mature native trees from trusted Florida growers and plant them for immediate impact. One of our recent Largo projects placed a 22-foot gumbo limbo in a single day, giving that homeowner shade for the next fifty years.
A rain garden is a shallow depression planted with deep-rooted natives that absorb stormwater. We've built several in Largo specifically for yards that flooded every summer. They look beautiful, solve drainage, and support pollinators at the same time.
Our office is in St. Petersburg, about 20 minutes from Largo. We work the area constantly, so scheduling tends to move fast. Consultations start at $125 and go toward your design.
Meet the family
The Wray-Weisensel Family
Kiamesha Wray and Justus Weisensel are the couple behind Living Spaces Gardening and Living Restorations. Family owned, family operated. Based in St. Petersburg since day one.
Kiamesha is a certified Florida Master Naturalist. She grew up on dig sites with her archaeologist mother and spent weekends camping along Florida's rivers and springs with her father. Justus is a premier woodworker and builder. He's the one grading your soil, placing the boulders, building the things that have to last.
Their kids fuel everything they do. Every native garden they restore is a piece of the Florida the next generation will inherit. Their crew has been with them for years. When they take on your project, these are the people who show up.
