Pinellas County Gardens

A garden built for Pinellas County, not shipped in from somewhere else.

Pinellas County is a peninsula of microclimates. Gulf-facing barrier islands have nothing in common with inland Pinellas Park or the bayous of Tarpon Springs. The right native plants exist for every one of those conditions, but it takes knowing the area to design for them properly.

We are based in St. Petersburg and have installed native landscapes throughout Pinellas County. We know where the soil gets heavier, where salt air becomes a problem, where summer rain pools, and which natives actually thrive in each condition.

If you're somewhere in Pinellas County and thinking about native landscaping, we probably already know your neighborhood's conditions. Every project starts with a site visit so we can confirm them.

Good questions

Pinellas County questions
about native landscaping

Pinellas County has diverse conditions, but several natives work across most of the peninsula: live oak, cabbage palm, saw palmetto, muhly grass, coontie, firebush, and gumbo limbo. Specific site conditions, coastal, shaded, flooded, determine the full plant palette.

Yes. We have designed and installed native landscapes throughout Pinellas County, including St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Dunedin, Tarpon Springs, Pinellas Park, Gulfport, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor, Seminole, and Belleair.

Native Florida plants require significantly less water than turf once established, no pesticides, and far less maintenance. Pinellas County's climate, sandy coastal soil, salt air, hurricane season, dry winters, punishes non-native plantings. Natives thrive in exactly these conditions.

Florida state law protects homeowners' rights to install Florida-Friendly landscaping. Most Pinellas HOAs allow thoughtful native designs, especially when they're well-designed and clearly intentional. We handle HOA documentation as part of the process.

We are based at 2621 4th Ave S in St. Petersburg. From there, we service the entire Pinellas County peninsula.

Meet the family

The Wray-Weisensel Family

Kiamesha Wray and Justus Weisensel are the couple behind Living Spaces Gardening and Living Restorations. Family owned, family operated. Based in St. Petersburg since day one.

Kiamesha is a certified Florida Master Naturalist. She grew up on dig sites with her archaeologist mother and spent weekends camping along Florida's rivers and springs with her father. Justus is a premier woodworker and builder. He's the one grading your soil, placing the boulders, building the things that have to last.

Their kids fuel everything they do. Every native garden they restore is a piece of the Florida the next generation will inherit. Their crew has been with them for years. When they take on your project, these are the people who show up.
